Ridley's trade mark is considered to be his stunning visuals, which we can all see quite clearly in Legend. He has directed other such great movies as Alien, Thelma and Louise, Blade Runner, 1492, White Squall, Black Rain, Someone to Watch Over Me, and more recently G.I. Jane. He also has a career as a producer, producing many of the same movies he has directed. His debut film, The Duellists, won best first work at the 1977 Cannes film festival. He also won a Blodil award for best American film forThelma and Louise, which was also nominated and won many other awards. He attentded the West Hartlepool College of Art and the Royal Collage of Art in London. His younger brother is director Tony Scott, who has directed films like Top Gun(Tom Cruise fans?), The Fan, Crimson Tide, and recently Enemy of the State.
